Last night I was standing on the landing of our open foyer (sounds much more extravagant than it is – basically our foyer is two stories and at the top is our washer/dryer behind bifold doors and laundry accumulates exponentially until it poses a fire hazard) – Anyway, I was standing there trying to find some matching pajamas for my six-year-old, Jason,( a rare occurrence in our house) when I heard something that sounded like spitting. I glanced up to see Jason leaning his head over the balcony banister, looking down.
Shocked, I asked, “Did you just spit over the balcony?”
He nodded. At least the boy was honest.
“Why?” I asked, disbelieving, too tired to react any more than that.
“I wanted to see how long it would take to get to the floor,” he replied matter-of-factly.
Need I say more?
