Sharon's Blog : Getting sentimental

Posted by sharon on 2008/6/8 23:09:24 (348 reads)
I was going through some old photos today, trying to get organized (a neverending job for me); there were a lot of my oldest son, who is a rising senior in high school and will be 17 in July.  I got very sentimental, especially when I came across the School Days scrapbooks that I'd gotten for my two oldest boys -- a book to put their school photos in each school year.

I remember buying these when my oldest was in the fourth grade, and I remember thinking then, "Oh, I'll do this later -- I've got lots of time."  Of course, I haven't put any photos in them at all, and I feel sad that time has gone by so quicky.  Next year will be the last year with my oldest son 'at home', though he will probably go to a nearby university.  We have many of the same likes and dislikes and watch movies and TV together, so I am really going to miss him as a 'friend' too.  My eyes get teary just thinking about it.

On another note, I have got to do something about our back-up of laundry around here.  I hate ironing.  Hate it, hate it.  Have any of you ever used a garment steamer?  Anybody heard if they actually work well?  For $160 or so they should do SOMETHING.  The best one is supposed to be the Jiffy 2000 followed by Rowenta.  Please respond to sharon@momsofboys.org if you have any suggestions.  I need all the help I can get before I go absolutely bonkers!! Thanks.

Take care and hang in there,

Sharon
